He Has performed over 10,000 complex surgeries, advancing endoscopic techniques for conditions of the ear, skull base and head & neck.   • Full professor at the School of Medicine, National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University (Taipei), and the Post-Baccalaureate Program in Medicine, National Chung Hsing University (Taichung).

He graduated from National Yang-Ming Chiao-Tung University in 1994 and completed residency training in Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Taichung Veterans General Hospital (TCVGH) in 2000. After joining the TCVGH faculty, he pursued subspecialty training in phonosurgery with Prof. Hiroyuki Fukuda at the Tokyo Voice Center (2002), and in head and neck oncology with Prof. Eugene N. Myers at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (2003-2004). In 2004, he further studied phonosurgery with Prof. Steven M. Zeitels. Upon returning to Taiwan, Prof. Wang led the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at TCVGH (2017-2023) and directed the International Medical Service Center (2022-2025). He currently Advisor (since 2023) of the Asia-Oceania Association of Otorhinolaryngological Societies. He is President of the Taiwan Voice Society and the International Guild of Robotic & Endoscopic Head & Neck Surgery. His clinical and research interests include laryngology, laryngopharyngeal reflux, and robotic head and neck surgery. His work includes the book chapter “EMG-Guided Injection Laryngoplasty” in Vocal Fold Injection. Since 2010, he has focused on robotic head and neck surgery, extending this minimally invasive approach beyond oropharyngeal cancer to hypopharyngeal and laryngeal cancers, and has authored several innovative peer-reviewed studies in this field.

He graduated from Madras Medical College in 1977 with distinction and obtained his DLO and MS in 1981 from the same Institution.
He has been a recipient of the ‘PADMA SHRI’ National Award from the Former President, His Excellency Late Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, Government of India in recognition of his distinguished and exceptional service in the field of Medicine in 2006. He has also been a recipient of the prestigious award from Medical Council of India ‘DR. B.C.ROY AWARD FOR THE YEAR 2008’ for the development of specialties in different branches in medicine from the Former President of India, His Excellency Shri. Pranab Mukherjee in 2016.
He is one of the pioneers of Cochlear Implant Surgery in India and has Mentored and was responsible for starting Cochlear Implant surgery in 45 centers in India, and in 7 centers overseas including Sri Lanka, Armed Forces Hospital in Bangladesh, Nigeria & Nepal. He is the FIRST Surgeon in South and South East Asia to have performed the Auditory Brainstem Implant and the FIRST Pediatric Brainstem Implant in Asia, January 2009. He is also the FIRST surgeon in Asia Pacific region to have performed the Totally Implantable Hearing Device surgery.
He is also the Founder President of Indian Academy of Oto Rhino Laryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. He is also Founder of Indian Association of Surgeons for Sleep Apnoea and Tamil Nadu Association of Otorhinolaryngologists of India.
He has written various journals and chapters in books and Edited a textbook on ENT Diseases in a Tropical Environment & two operative manuals - one on Temporal Bone Surgery and the other on Skull Base Surgery.

He trained in Rhinology under Prof. Daniel Simmen from Switzerland, Endoscopic thyroidectomy under Prof. Tran N Luong from Vietnam, Endoscopic Sinus surgery under Prof. Heinz Stammberger from Austria, Endoscopic Ear Surgery under Prof. In Seok Moon from South Korea and Endoscopic Skullbase surgery under Prof. Peter Hwang, Stanford university, USA.
He along with Prof. Simmen’s team coined a new classification for Endoscopic Prelacrimal Approach. He got a sponsored fellowship (only Indian) from European Rhinology Society, Travel grant award from Seoul, South Korea and received many awards for paper presentation in various conferences. He has published several articles in various journals and contributed chapters in books. He was a teacher for Postgraduate students in Otorhinolarygology. He is the editor in chief for a famous international book on 100 Complications of Otorhinolaryngology & Skullbase surgery by esteemed THIEME Publishers, youngest Indian to do so.
